UNIMORE High Performance Computing (HPC) Service
The UNIMORE High Performance Computing (HPC) is organized into five computing clusters, designed to support research, scientific computing, and teaching activities.
Available clusters
- ARIES, available to all UNIMORE users.
- LYRALOGIN, dedicated to privately owned compute nodes.
- LYRA, dedicated to privately owned compute nodes.
- PHOENIX, dedicated to privately owned compute nodes.
- LGLOGIN, reserved exclusively for teaching activities
Credentials
UNIMORE credentials do not automatically grant access to the HPC clusters.
To request activation of an account on the various clusters, please email:

indicating the name of your research group and the cluster for which you would like access.
Infrastructure overview
The infrastructure currently comprises 168 compute nodes, providing a total of approximately 8,000 CPU cores and 20 NVIDIA GPUs.
The overall memory capacity amounts to about 82 TB of installed RAM, with an average availability of approximately 10 GB per core.
The computing system is further supported by a high-performance storage infrastructure with an overall capacity of approximately 1 PB, designed to meet the requirements of large-scale scientific computing, data analysis, and advanced simulations.
